Leitrim County Council has decided to temporarily close roads in Keshcarrigan - the Garvagh/Mohill Road (L3051) from 10th August to 18th September (excl 11th - 13th Sept) 2026 and the R209 in Keshcarrigan from 21st September to 23rd October 2026.

Leitrim County Council has made a decision to temporarily close High St & Main Street in Ballinamore for times starting on Sunday 9th August to Monday 17th August 2026

Under Section 71 of the Roads Act, 1993, Leitrim County Council have the power to remove vehicles with "For Sale" signs that are parked along a public road. The registered owner will be required to pay any costs involved in removing and storing the vehicle prior to the vehicle being returned to the registered owner

A Temporary Road Closures will apply to each of these roads listed and will operate for a period of 3 to 5 days between 1st April, 2026 and 31st December 2026 - Also, a speed limit of 50kph shall apply during works.

The implementation of new default speed limits of 60 KPH for all Rural Local Roads in county Leitrim will come into effect on Friday 7th February 2025. This does not include Regional and National roads and does not include any roads with a current special speed limits of 30 KPH or 50 KPH
