DRAFT Litter Management Plan 2026-2028

PUBLIC CONSULTATION - DRAFT County Leitrim Litter Management Plan 2026-2028

In accordance with Section 12 of the Litter Pollution Act, 1997 (as amended) notice is hereby given that Leitrim County Council propose to make a Litter Management Plan for the period 2026-2028.

This Draft Plan sets out Leitrim County Council's priorities for Litter Management during the lifetime of the Plan and solidifies our commitment to promote, protect and keep Leitrim litter free.

The Draft Litter Management Plan will be available for inspection at the following locations from Wednesday 18th March to Wednesday 15th April 2026.

  • Customer Service Desk, Leitrim County Council, Áras an Chontae, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim
  • Manorhamilton Area Office, Leitrim County Council, Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim

Inspection Times: 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm

Copies of the Draft Litter Management Plan will also be available for inspection at Local Public Libraries and may be viewed on Leitrim County Council’s website accessible at the following link: Draft Litter Management Plan 2026-2028.

Written Submissions or Observations in relation to the Draft Litter Management Plan should be made to Leitrim County Council not later than 4pm on Wednesday 29th April 2026. Such Submissions or Observations will be taken into consideration prior to the adoption of the Draft Litter Management Plan.

All Submissions or Observations should be marked “Draft Litter Management Plan 2026-2028” and addressed to: Director of Finance, Environment, Climate, Sustainable Communities & Library Services, Leitrim County Council, Áras an Chontae, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim.

Email submissions will also be accepted – please email your Submission or Observation to environment@leitrimcoco.ie.

Submissions or Observations made to any other Leitrim County Council email address will not be accepted.

Closing date for all Submissions or Observations: 4pm on Wednesday 29th April 2026.
