National Public Libraries Open Day

Leitrim Library Service is pleased to announce National Public Libraries Open Day 2026 will take place on Saturday, 26 September.

The Day will celebrate the important role public libraries play in communities across Ireland, encouraging more people to become library members and avail of the excellent services they provide.

Library membership is free and opens the door to a wide range of services and supports. Libraries provide access to books, digital resources, events, activities, study spaces, community programmes and opportunities for people of all ages to learn, connect and be creative.

Further details on local plans for National Public Libraries Open Day will be announced in the lead-up to the event.
