We constantly work to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and services. Leitrim County Council aims to follow the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility although there may be occasions where it is not possible, practicable or appropriate. If this is the case, we will inform you and offer alternative options if available.
Accessibility requests when attending Leitrim County Council buildings or event
Please contact us as soon as possible before visiting Leitrim County Council if you or a member of your group has any access requirements so that we may facilitate you.
If you are attending an event some requests may take some time to organise. Therefore, we ask that you provide us with as much notice as possible and before the request deadline stated in the notice. Please note it may not be possible to facilitate requests for an event made after the request deadline due to the short time period available to organise the request.
Guide and Assistance Dogs
Guide and Assistance dogs are welcome and water facilities are available for dogs.
Assistance, First Aid and other emergencies
If you require assistance at any point during your visit to Leitrim County Council, please do not hesitate to speak to one of our staff members. If you feel unwell at any time, there is First Aid available. There is a defibrillator at the entrance on the lower ground floor.
In the event of an emergency, please follow the instructions of the reception staff and leave by the nearest emergency exit to you. Sometimes an emergency exit may be behind you. Doors which require key cards are automatically unlocked when the fire alarm is activated. Information regarding evacuations and emergencies is available in the reception area.
Baby changing facilities
There is a baby changing facility located in the accessible toilet in Áras an Chontae near the Customer Services counter.
Accessible toilets
There is a unisex accessible toilet for customer use. The door to the toilet opens inwards. If there are any issues with the toilets, please notify reception staff.

The Inquiry Officer responds to complaints made under section 38 of the Disability Act 2005 about Leitrim County Council's possible failure to comply with sections 25, 26, 27, 28 or 29 of the Disability Act 2005. To help Leitrim County Council's Inquiry Officer respond to your complaint, it must be in writing and sent by email, post, fax or delivered to our office.

Access Officers are responsible for providing or arranging for, and co-ordinating assistance and guidance, to persons with disabilities, accessing services provided by the offices and generally to act as a point of contact for people with disabilities wishing to access such services.
