Road Closure - Cowboys & Heroes (Proposal)

Roads Act 1993 - Temporary Closing of Roads
In accordance with the provisions of Section 75 of the above Act and Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, and for the purpose of facilitating The Cowboys & Heroes Music Festival in Drumcoura City, notice is hereby given that Leitrim County Council proposes to make a decision to close the following public roads:

Dates: 12:00 midday on Friday 29th May, 2026 to 21:00 on Monday 1st June 2026
Location: L5501 (Derrygoan) from the Corgar junction with the R199-5 to the R204-6 crossroads. The access road from the R204 crossroads in front of Drumcoura City (Derrygoan) and continuing to the junction with the R199 (Corgar).

Note: There will be exception for emergency vehicles, local access and the Park-and-Ride buses.
Note:  L1502 – Signs will be erected at the entrance to the L1502 from the R199 advising “No Access to Cowboys & Heroes Festival”. 

Alternative Options: From the R204, continue west on the R204 to Ballinamore town, turn right off St. Brigid’s Street onto the R202 and continue east following the R199 (Newtowngore Road).  From Corgar, travel west along the R199 to Ballinamore town, turn left onto the R204 (St. Brigid’s Street) and turn right on to the R204 (signposted for Carrigallen).

Any persons aggrieved by this proposal to close the roads described may lodge an objection with the Director of Services for Economic Development, Regeneration, Sustainable Transport and Emergency Services, Leitrim County Council, Aras an Chontae, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim on or before 16:00 on Monday 11th May 2026
