Recovery Vehicle

A Recovery Vehicle is a vehicle used exclusively in connection with the lifting, towing and transporting of a disabled vehicle.

In order to tax a Recovery Vehicle for the first time, it must be inspected by the Authorised Officer – phone Leitrim Motor Tax Office 071 9650419 to make an appointment.

The following must be in place prior to inspection:

1. A winch or lifting equipment permanently fitted to the vehicle.
2. At least two flashing beacons in working order.
3. The words ‘Recovery Vehicle’ inscribed on the vehicle.

Required Documents:

• RF100 First Taxing Private - Goods or RF100A Tax Renewal Form
• Registration Book or Vehicle Registration Certificate
• Valid Motor Trade Insurance
• Recovery Vehicle Declaration Form - available from Leitrim Motor Tax Office
• Appropriate Fee
