Here is some other important advice ahead of a storm:

  • Monitor Weather Reports to stay informed.
  • Secure garden furniture, bins, trampolines or other loose objects around your home.
  • During power outages avoid using candles or naked flames and never take any risks that will put you, your family or your home at risk.
  • Keep emergency numbers and family contact numbers close at hand to ensure they are easy to access.
  • Note your Eircode and MPRN number in the event you need to speak with emergency services or utility providers.
  • Never interfere with fallen power lines & keep up to date with power restoration on www.powercheck.ie
  • If using gas heaters or diesel generators ensure that you are using them safely and that they are correctly maintained and serviced.
  • Stay connected with your family and community where possible, it is good for you and for them as you navigate this challenge.
