Local Community Safety Partnership

Leitrim Local Community Safety Partnership

What is Community Safety?

Community safety goes beyond policing and crime. It is about ensuring that people both are safe and feel safe in their communities — from visible Gardaí to safe places for children and families to live, work, and enjoy their surroundings.

In Leitrim, this is supported through the Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP), which brings together residents, community organisations, statutory agencies, and elected members to work collaboratively on local safety issues.

The LCSP provides a forum where concerns can be identified, discussed, and addressed through coordinated, evidence‑based action. With community representatives forming the majority of members, it ensures that local voices are central to shaping a safer and more inclusive county.

Public Survey – Have Your Say On Community Safety

The LCSP is now undertaking a public survey to inform the development of Leitrim’s first Local Community Safety Plan.

This survey gives people living and working in Leitrim the opportunity to share their views and experiences of community safety, highlight local concerns, and suggest actions that would help people feel safe and be safe in their communities.

The feedback received will help identify key priorities and guide the actions for the Local Community Safety Plan, alongside local data and wider public engagement.

📢 Take the survey and have your say: www.bit.ly/LeitrimSafety

While the survey captures key information, we would welcome more detailed or expanded feedback on any specific safety concerns. Submissions can be made via email as part of the Local Community Safety Plan by contacting LCSP@leitrimcoco.ie

The closing date for the survey and submissions is Monday, 29th June.
