In preparation for the development of a public art project celebrating the IWAI and the inland waterways of the Carrick on Shannon region we invite anyone with an interest in our past, present and future engagement with our canals, rivers and lakes to join the conversation

Hand to Land and Thread in Hand - tracing the heritage of flax in Ballinamore Meath artist Fiona Murphy is currently undertaking a public art project at The Junction in Ballinamore as part of Leitrim County Council's 'Percent for Art' programme. The wide-ranging brief for the project described Ballinamore's rich cultural heritage, the town's sense of community, as well as the community's interest in the environment.

We are seeking between eight and ten members from a local community group that would be interested in taking part in a stained glass project with award winning artist Collette Langan at the soon-to-open Dromahair Library. The closing date for groups to express their interest in taking part is Sunday 9th March 2025.
