Western Development Commission Roots in the Region Survey

The Western Development Commission are carrying out an exciting new research project which aims to develop a much clearer picture of the scale, nature and geography of diaspora engagement which is happening in the Western Region.

Across Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon, Galway and Clare, communities and organisations maintain meaningful ties and connections with people who have moved away or who still feel part of the region through family, heritage or shared interests. These connections span community groups, people involved in the arts, culture and festivals, sporting clubs including the GAA, those involved in economic development and local government, business connections and tourism.

The WDC want to hear from individuals and groups who are working all kinds of levels to build these connections – in large ways and small – and are asking people to complete this short 10 minute survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/wdc-diaspora which is also accessible on the WDC website www.westerndevelopment.ie where you can also find out more about the research.
