Choice Based Lettings August 2026
Choice Based Letting (CBL) is a method used to help provide people on Leitrim County Council’s Social Housing Support Waiting List express an interest in suitable Council Accommodation.
A suitable property is one that matches your approved housing need. Applicants can only express an interest in the properties for which they are eligible in terms of the number of bedrooms.
It should be noted that where a household refuses a reasonable offer of the allocation of a bid dwelling, that household shall not, for the period of one year commencing on the date of such refusal, be entitled to make a further application under CBL to any Housing Authority for the allocation of a bid dwelling.

A household that wishes to be considered for the allocation of one of the above properties should email cbl@leitrimcoco.ie to express an interest in the property. While the preferred option is via email applicants who don’t have access to email can submit their expression of interest in writing to the following address; Choice Based Letting, Housing Department, Leitrim County Council, Aras an Chontae, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim N41 PF67. In the event you wish to express an interest in multiple properties that are advertised, please include your preference in order of choice.
Closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is midnight on 8th August 2026
The onus is on the person to ensure that their application has been submitted in time. Please ensure that you give yourself sufficient time to allow for any unforeseen circumstances which may arise and which may impact on your application not being received on time.
