Be Emergency Ready Toolkit Lauched
The Department of Defence launched the Be Emergency Ready campaign, a new national public information campaign designed to help individuals, families and communities prepare for emergencies and disruptions such as severe weather, flooding, power outages and other unforeseen events.
The campaign is led by the Department of Defence's Office of Emergency Planning on behalf of the Government Task Force on Emergency Planning, with support from Local Government Ireland. An information booklet will be distributed nationwide commencing on 21st September 2026, to deliver approximately 2.2 million booklets to every household in the country.
The campaign aims to encourage practical preparedness, community resilience and awareness of trusted information sources during emergencies.
