Carrick-on-Shannon Wetland Ecology Park

Carrick-on-Shannon Tidy Towns with the assistance of Leitrim County Council through Leader funding has commissioned a feasibility study to explore the potential development of a new Wetland Ecology Park off the Leitrim Road. The proposed project forms part of the Council’s Built and Natural Heritage Local Objectives and supports the Leitrim Local Development Strategy for:

• Sustainable Rural Development
• Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation
• Protection and Enhancement of Local Biodiversity

We would like to hear your views on the project and welcome suggestions from the local community. Please join us at our public drop-in session Thursday, 25th June 2026 from 10:00am – 2:00pm at The Market Yard, St George’s Terrace, Townparks, Carrick-on-Shannon.
