Litter Management Plan 2026-2028
Leitrim County Council’s Litter Management Plan 2026-2028 has been developed in alignment with the other local and national plans, having regard to environmental protection. The Litter Management Plan 2026-2028 was adopted at the Plenary meeting of Leitrim County Council on the 13th July 2026.
Protecting and enhancing Leitrim's environment is a shared responsibility. The Litter Management Plan 2026-2028 highlights how Leitrim County Council, together with the active participation of individuals, communities, business and all sectors of society, can tackle this issue through collective action and shared stewardship to ensure that Leitrim remains a clean, vibrant and sustainable county for generations to come.
County Leitrim, like all other counties, faces a litter challenge - litter pollution is a pervasive problem that requires ongoing effort and commitment from all sectors of society. The adoption of this comprehensive Litter Management Plan is an important step in the battle against litter pollution, improving the county's environment and ensuring a cleaner, safer place for both residents and visitors.
