Local Environmental Action Fund - LEAF

The Local Environmental Action Fund (LEAF) was officially launched by Leitrim County Council and IPB Insurance on Monday 15th June 2026. The Fund represents a shared commitment to empower communities to take practical action to improve their local environment. The Fund will support Tidy Towns committees, Residents’ Associations and voluntary groups involved in environmental improvement and sustainability initiatives registered with the Public Participation Network (PPN). The Fund encourages collaboration with schools and local organisations under the theme Communities Working Together for Climate.

Fund Details
The Local Environmental Action Fund (LEAF) supports Tidy Towns and voluntary groups involved in environmental improvement and sustainability initiatives across County Leitrim to deliver impactful climate and environmental projects. Funded through a partnership between IPB Insurance and Leitrim County Council, LEAF encourages collaboration between local groups, schools, and organisations to create greener, more sustainable communities.
Grants of €1,000 to €25,000 are available for projects focused on biodiversity, climate action, and environmental enhancement, from tree planting and pollinator initiatives to waste reduction, water conservation, and community education. The fund is fully financed, empowering communities to take meaningful action and make a lasting difference in their local area.
Application Deadline is 13th July 2026.
Applications are now closed, successful projects will be announced shortly.
