On behalf of Leitrim County Council, Murphy Geospatial will be undertaking a Topographic and Hydrographic Surveys around the SLNCR Preferred Corridor between Carraroe, County Sligo to Blacklion, County Cavan. Including areas in Ballysadare, Collooney, Ballygawley, Dromahair, Manorhamilton and Glenfarne that are within the preferred Corridor.

The survey will take place from Tuesday, 20th  January 2026 for a period of four months, however it should be noted that this is weather dependant, and dates may be subject to change.

A topographic survey is a detailed mapping of the natural and man-made features. It includes information on elevations, contours, bodies of water, vegetation, and structures. This type of survey is essential for the detailed design and construction of the Greenway.

Hydrographic surveys involve measuring and mapping the physical features of bodies of water, such as rivers and lakes. It involves determining water depths and cross sections. Hydrographic surveys will be used to inform the development of a robust flood model.

Both surveys will be used to develop and assess a Preferred Route for the SLNCR Greenway.
