The Local Environmental Action Fund (LEAF) was officially launched by Leitrim County Council and IPB Insurance on 15 June 2026. The fund reflects a shared commitment to supporting communities in taking practical action to improve and protect their local environment. LEAF provides funding to Tidy Towns committees, Residents’ Associations and voluntary groups involved in environmental improvement and sustainability initiatives. The fund also encourages collaboration with schools and local organisations under the theme “Communities Working Together for Climate.”

Through a partnership between Leitrim County Council and IPB Insurance, LEAF supports the delivery of impactful climate action and environmental projects across County Leitrim, helping to create greener, more sustainable communities. In 2026, a total of €100,000 was awarded to 18 community projects throughout County Leitrim, supporting a wide range of local environmental and sustainability initiatives.
