Adopt a Road Scheme
Leitrim County Council is now inviting all Community Groups / Tidy Town Groups to participate in our 'Adopt a Road Scheme 2026'.
The aim of the Adopt a Road Scheme 2026 is to highlight and combat the issue of roadside litter which can be extremely unsightly and poses a risk to our Environment. Participation in the Adopt a Road Scheme 2026 involves Community Groups / Tidy Town Groups committing to adopting a designated stretch of road for the purpose of removing litter from the roadside verge.
Participating Community Group / Tidy Town Group will agree in advance with Leitrim County Council a Litter Maintenance Programme ie arranging for their group to collect litter from the designated stretch of road a number of times per year - for example once a month or 4 times per year etc.
Leitrim County Council will provide the necessary equipment (litter pickers, gloves, Hi-Vis Vests) and will also arrange for the disposal of the collected litter from a pre-agreed designated location on completion.
If you feel your Community Group / Tidy Town Group would be interested in participating in this scheme, please download a copy of the Scheme Details here, complete the form and submit, by email or post, as follows:-
