BUS STOP ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME
Municipal District of Ballinamore
Leitrim County Council in exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act, 1994 hereby gives notice that it has prepared a Scheme for the provision of Bus Stop Enhancement Works at the following location:
Main Street, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim (in the townlands of Tully and Stradermot, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim.) – As part of the 2026 Bus Stop Enhancement Programme, Leitrim County Council intends to improve existing Bus Stops by upgrading existing bus stop and associated public infrastructure, with the primary objective of making the public bus services more accessible, improving passenger experience, comfort and convenience in accordance with guidelines published by the National Transport Authority (NTA).
The proposed works will consist of the following elements:
- Provision of 2 no. Bus Stops, road markings, signage poles and advance regulatory road signage.
- Installation of 2 no. two bay bus shelters.
- Alterations to existing kerb lines, kerb type, street furniture and widening of footpaths.
- Relocation of existing accessible parking bay and installation of age friendly parking space.
- Surface water drainage, line marking, associated signage and upgrading of public lighting.
- Traffic management measures and all related site development works.
Plans and particulars of the Scheme are outlined on the drawings.
