Leitrim Gathering Road Closures

Roads Act 1993 / Temporary Closing of Roads

In accordance with the provisions of Section 75 of the above Act and Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, and for the purpose of facilitating The Leitrim Gathering, Notice is hereby given that Leitrim County Council proposes to make a decision to close the following public roads:

Proposed Road Closure No. 1

Location: Main Street, Manorhamilton

Date/Time: Saturday 24th May 2025 from 12:00 - 00:00

Road Closed:      Regional Road (R280), Main Street, Manorhamilton starting at the junction of the National Road N16 and the R280 at the Sligo Road and finishing at the junction of the R280 and Church Lane (L-2643-1)

Alternative: Travelling from Carrick on Shannon to Kinlough on the R280 turn right at the junction at Main Street (R280 and L-2643-1), travel along upper Main Street (L-2643-1) to the N16 roundabout, the left at roundabout onto the N16 along the New Line, turning right at the traffic lights onto the R280 at Castle Street and onto Kinlough.

Proposed Road Closure No. 2

Street/Road: Main Street, Drumkeeran

Date & Times: Sunday 25th May from 11:00 - 19:00

Road Closed: Regional Road (R280-24), from the west boundary of Drumkeerin Health Centre beside the junction of R280-23 with local road L4250-1 and finishing at the junction of the R280-25 with local road L4251-0

Alternative: The alternative route is along the R-200-1, R-200-2 (Dowra Road), to the junction of local road L-4250-1, along the L-4250-1 until its junction with the R-280-23 (Carrick on Shannon Road).

Any person aggrieved by the proposed decision to close the roads described above may lodge an objection with the Director of Services for Economic Development, Planning & Transportation, Leitrim County Council, Aras an Chontae, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, no later than 16:00 on Tuesday 6th May, 2025
