Built Heritage

The built heritage of Leitrim today has been influenced by the geological, cultural and territorial history of the county. It includes vernacular buildings, country houses, industrial buildings and structures, places of worship, commercial buildings and the numerous vernacular features that contribute greatly to the sense of place of our countryside, historic towns and villages (for pre-1700 buildings and structures, please see the Archaeological Heritage section).
