Celebrate Biodiversity Week 2025 in County Leitrim

The Irish Environmental Network (IEN), in collaboration with the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and the Heritage Council, is excited to announce the celebration of National Biodiversity Week 2025 from 16th May to 25th May 2025.

This year’s theme, "Connecting People with Nature,"aims to inspire communities across Ireland to engage in activities that promote the protection and appreciation of our natural environment. It is all about connecting people with nature and is made possible by the support of the Heritage Council’s network, including the Local Authority Biodiversity Officer Network and the work of the IEN member groups.

Explore the rich variety of life in Ireland with a host of wonderful events and activities for the whole family. This year join in with the 13th annual Biodiversity Photographer of the Year competition, a week long Bioblitz and Scavenger Hunt, and events every day on all things wildlife in Ireland!
