Schools
Leitrim has 41 primary schools and 8 secondary schools. There are also a number of Gaelscoileanna.School places are available across the County and both the primary and secondary schools offer a quality education as well as encouraging their pupils to get involved in a range of extra-circular projects and activities.
Special Needs Education Facilities
Childhood Days in Drumshanbo, which can be contacted at 071 9640887, provides childcare and activities for children with Special Needs.

The National Council for Special Education co-ordinates with the health services, schools and other relevant bodies regarding the provision of education and related support services to children with disabilities/special needs.
