The Cross Border Project in conjunction with Leitrim County Council and the Leitrim Sports Partnership are hosting a conference on Friday, November 12th 2010 in the Lough Rynn Castle Hotel in Mohill, County Leitrim. There is a range of speakers with experience of organising events and the issues you need to be aware of to make your event successful.
This one-day cross border conference will explore all the relevant issues to organising a sports, community or charity event. Issues covered will include:
· Making your club/event relevant to your community
· Health and safety
· Planning your event
· Accessing local agency support
· Crisis management
· Finding a sponsor
· Keeping your sponsor
There will also be two case-studies on organising events – big and small.
Who Should Attend
The conference will be of interest to anyone involved in sport, recreation, community or charity activities who run regular or one-off events and need to know best practice in organising events and how to make money from their event. Attendees will typically include: sports clubs, sports co-ordinators, national and regional governing bodies of sport, members of local groups involved in organising community/sports/charity events, local development bodies etc.
The event will provide an opportunity to network and build up contacts with the possibility of developing joint projects/events.
